SIA's News & Notes Newsletter

News & Notes is the newsletter published by the Society of Indiana Archivists. 

SIA invites submissions of news, photographs, and/or articles so you can share your good work with fellow Indiana archivists. Let us know what’s going on in your area or institution! Topics can be anything of interest to archivists.  

What kind of content are we looking for? 

  • Announcement - recent hire, upcoming event, or institutional milestone
  • Topical article - current/trending event or news, reflection or opinion piece 
  • Feature - longer write-up about a publication, project, or acquisition 
  • Summary - truncated article with link to further reading 
  • Blurb - brief update, helpful tip, or fun fact 
  • Education - collection management, preservation, or electronic records best practices 
Articles should be 750-1,000 words, Times New Roman, double spaced, and 12 pt font. Images should be JPEG at a minimum of 70 DPI. Images must include captions or alt-text. Include contact information for any follow-up that may be needed. Include author(s) bio(s), including name, position, institution, and a headshot no more than two years old.
