Welcome to the Society of Indiana Archivists!

Who We Are and What We Do

The Society of Indiana Archivists (SIA) is an organization of archivists, researchers, and others who are actively concerned with establishing, developing, preserving, promoting, and using archival collections.

SIA provides a forum for the exchange of information and ideas related to archival collections and best practices, and it serves as a liaison among individuals and institutions working with archival collections in the state.

2021 SIA Annual Meeting

The 2021 SIA Annual Meeting will be held virtually on April 29th and 30th.  The 2021 theme, A New Normal: The Profession at a Crossroads will explore the changes within the profession initiated by the pandemic and social unrest around the country. Programs will cover topics pertaining to operating under quarantine, and in the era of COVID-19, how archives are responding to and capturing social movements like Black Lives Matter. For this “new normal,” we will go beyond the tips and tricks to how the events of 2020 may be reshaping what we do, how we do it, and the overall profession.

SIA will be offering discounted rates to this year’s annual meeting.

SIA members: $25

Non-SIA members: $35

Students, retirees, and volunteers: Free
